Meet Torben Ballin, the lithic archaeologist who lives in the Stirlingshire hills with his wife, Beverley.

He can link us with the earliest people in Scotland: to the times before our landmass was separated from Europe by sea over 14,000 years ago. We see tools shaped by reindeer horns into axes, scrapers and arrowheads and learn of the power of weapons and gifts.

But primarily, we learn of Torben, the man who loves his stone.

A film by Trina Mckendrick, Zsolt Stefkovics, Ida Joniken and Maija Brunfeldt.
