Underwater archaeologists surveying the worlds oldest submerged town have found ceramics dating back to the early Bronze Age. This suggests that Pavlopetri, off the southern Laconia coast of Greece, was occupied some 5000 years ago making the site even more important than first thought. The Pavlopetri Underwater Archaeology Project, involving the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and The University of Nottingham, aims to establish when the site was occupied, what it was used for and through a systematic study of the geomorphology of the area, how the town became submerged. Dr Jon Henderson, from the Department of Archaeology, takes up the story. From http://www.youtube.com/user/NottmUniversity

An early webcam (the first at an archaeological excavation?) was installed at an excavation on an important Romano-British burial site (ca 60AD) west of Colchester. The area is now a gravel pit. It is possible the site was visited by the Emperor Claudius following the Roman invasion of AD43. This is a sequence of archived image sets from the webcam, together with diary entries from when they could be downloaded from an active website. For more information, see 'City of Victory', Philip Crummy, Colchester Archaeological Trust, 1997. ISBN 1 89771905 1. The webcam and associated software were set-up by staff of the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering (now Computing and Electronic Systems) at the University of Essex. http://uk.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=james9149
