Stanton Drew - second largest stone circle in Britain. In 1997 geophysics revealed nine concentric rings of post holes radiating out from the centre of the main circle. It caused a sensation at the time, and English Heritage, under pressure from the press, rushed out a painted interpretation which was actually someone's idea of how Durrington Walls South Circle might have looked. Which makes this (as far as I know) the only reconstruction of the actual monument .

Filmed during a chilly afternoon in January 2010. The prehistoric standing stones of Stanton Drew lay dusted by snow as the Winter sun fades gradually into the day’s end. Painterly clouds glide delicately above, behind and through this ancient tableau.
