This video shows some of my work on a petroglyph site that I found near El Paso, Texas in January 2010. The linear petroglyphs are found on limestone bedrock and are very difficult to see under normally lighting conditions. To reveal the details of the petroglyphs, a series of mildly convergent stereo pair images were collected to create a high-resolution 3D model of the glyphs. The process produced a 0.5 millimeter 3D model of the surface of the bedrock. Several pecked lines are apparent in the 3D model that are not easily visible otherwise.
